Celebration of Excellence: honoring outstanding achievements

Houston High School's annual "Celebration of Excellence" recently honored the remarkable achievements of our students in a special awards ceremony that was nothing short of inspirational. The event showcased the incredible talents and relentless dedication of our Honors Academy students across academics, athletics, and the arts.

This year's celebration highlighted the Class of 2024's extraordinary accomplishments. With an average ACT score of 30.9, our students have proven their academic prowess. The ceremony also recognized special achievements, including perfect ACT scores by standout students such as Jackson Carver and Jacob Geiser, and exceptional AP Scholars like Chloe Frandsen and Ethan Assad, who have both distinguished themselves with their stellar performances on multiple AP exams.

Our students also excelled in extracurricular activities, from state championships in athletics to prestigious awards in music and the arts. The event proudly acknowledged all-state musicians like Felix Lam and Ava Tignor, who have both contributed significantly to our district's reputation in the state's music circles.

Notably, the ceremony also celebrated significant scholarships and accolades, including National Merit Finalists such as Ellie Claire Warren and George Liu, who have brought honor to our school district with their academic achievements and leadership.

Join us in congratulating all our students who continue to make us proud every day. Here's to another year of excellence and achievement!
