Germantown, TN--October 29, 2021--
The Houston Girls Soccer team is playing in the TSSAA State Soccer Tournament for the 21st consecutive year. They qualified for the State Tournament by defeating Clarksville High School last weekend 4-0.
In the quarterfinals, the Lady Mustangs beat Science Hill 2-1.
Freshman Ellett Smith scored our first goal with less than two minutes to play in the first half. Junior Lauren Fang scored the winning goal in the opening minutes of the second half. Seniors Sydney Dacus and Taylor Thoefiledes anchored the back end of the defense that along with Junior goalkeeper Sophie Dawe held Science Hill scoreless for the last 67 minutes of the match.
