Germantown, Tennessee--January 4, 2022--
Dogwood's 2nd graders loaded up their wagons and horses and headed into Pioneer Day. This was a culminating activity for a reading unit The American West.The day was filled with students dressing as pioneers.They built log cabins out of pretzels and icing, planned what would be loaded on their wagons based on a weight limit, read Sarah Plain and Tall and camped out under their desks. Hope Taveau said, “My favorite thing was building the log cabin even though mine kept collapsing." The Dogwood Dolphins could not have had a more indulging learning experience as they got to experience parts of The American West.
