Germantown, Tennessee-- January 18, 2022-- While at HHS, teachers noticed that Jillian Jackson (Class of 2018) was 'going places'. She served in multiple leadership roles; Freshman Class Secretary, Sophomore Class President, Junior Class President and Senior Class President. In addition, she was Drum Major in the Houston Band her junior and senior years.
Currently, Jackson is the 80th President of the Spelman College Student Government Association. During her time at Spelman College she has also served as SGA Secretary of Student Affairs, First Year Liaison and SGA Representative to the First Year Class Council.
The speech took place at the Atlanta University Center this week, during which Jillian Jackson was selected to introduce President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
"Truthfully, the superlatives for this remarkable scholar, Jillian Jackson, are too numerous to narrow down," Houston High School English teacher Karen Garrison shared with us. "Miss Jackson embodies the attributes of a developing leader supported by solid family values and a personal work ethic. Her social and political advocacy for meaningful change makes her an authentic Influencer. Selecting Jillian Jackson to introduce the Vice President is an honor, and I am incredibly proud of her. Get ready world; this is only a rehearsal."
