Germantown, Tennessee--April 11, 2022--The Ned McWherter Scholars Program is "intended to encourage academically superior Tennessee high school graduates to attend college in Tennessee." Students apply at the beginning of their senior year. The award is $6,000 per academic year, $3,000 from the State of Tennessee and $3,000 from the college or university attended. Students must submit an application, their transcript, and their official ACT/SAT scores. The award is highly competitive and selective. To be eligible, applicants must have a minimum composite score of a 29 on the ACT, be a TN resident, and maintain a 3.5 unweighted cumulative GPA.
