Houston High School Pom finished out their season strong with their final competitions. First, they stopped in Birmingham, AL to get some final feedback from judges at the UDA Magic City Dance Challenge. They placed 1st in Hip Hop and 2nd in Pom and Game Day. Their final countdown to Nationals began, and just a few days later, they hit the Nationals stage at the Castle in Orlando, FL.
At the National Dance Team Championship, there are fewer divisions, so the competition is tough. They were Super Varsity Game Day and finished 7th out of the thirty teams, and for Hip Hop, they were Large and finished 8th out of 25 teams.
Coach Yorubah Banks could not be more proud of her team saying, “Thank you for putting in the work and time when no one was watching because every time someone did watch, you girls were amazing. We stayed humbled, but yet hungry so the fact we reached our goals this year has made me beyond proud. Love all of my dancers!”
We are so proud of Houston Pom for their season and top ten placements. Congratulations!
