The Houston Mustang Wrestling team had an incredible showing at the TSSAA Region 8 DAA Championships this year, with 10 placers heading on to Sectionals next weekend.
Leading the way were Colby Baltz, Henry Tate, and Dean Carrion, who all took home first place in their respective weight classes. Daniel Guerrero, Jacob Geiser, Topher Green, and Barrett McMillan all earned second place finishes, while Nic Moore and Micah Commons both placed third. Jonah Little rounded out the placers with a fourth place finish.
The team's success was further highlighted by the individual awards that were given out. Jonah Little was named the Region 8 Freshman of the Year, Henry Tate was named the Region 8 Wrestler of the Year, and Dean Carrion was named the Region 8 Tournament Outstanding Wrestler.
