March 2023 - The Houston High School Boys Soccer Team is embarking on a journey to Manchester, England to train at the world-renowned Manchester City Football Club. The team will meet with international soccer stalwarts to hone their skills in preparation for defending their title as state champions. This opportunity is a unique advantage for the team, as they are one of the only US high school teams to train in this prestigious arena.
This trip will not only provide the players with an opportunity to improve their skills but also expose them to different cultures and ways of life. The team is excited to visit the city of Manchester, known for its rich soccer history and passion for the sport.
The facility offers state-of-the-art equipment and training techniques that will help the team improve their game and take it to the next level. The team will be staying in the hotel on the property and will have the opportunity to participate in a handful of cultural field trips to nearby castles and the like.
"We are honored to have the opportunity to train at Manchester City," said Coach David Wolff. "This trip is a great chance for our players to improve their skills and gain valuable experience from some of the best in the world. They’ll come into contact with high school teams from China and Japan. It really gives them a new perspective on how soccer is celebrated and respected in other places. We hope to bring back what we learn to Houston and continue our tradition of excellence."
The Houston High School Boys Soccer Team is a force to be reckoned with, and this trip to Manchester will only enhance their abilities on the field. Come wish them luck as they depart, or welcome them home when they return.
