Houston High Students have once again showcased their skills and talents, as they walked away with a handful of awards at the State FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) Competition held last week. The competition saw students from across the state participate in various categories, and HHS students performed exceptionally well.
Lauryn Barrett and Malone Jimerson were the star performers of the day, as they won 1st place GOLD in the Public Policy Advocacy category. Their hard work and dedication paid off as they beat out tough competition from other schools to clinch the top spot. The students' public speaking skills and in-depth knowledge of the advocacy topic were highly impressive.
Faith Sneed also put up an excellent performance, winning 3rd place SILVER in the Career Investigation category. Her thorough research and analysis of the chosen career path helped her secure a podium finish at the competition. Morgan Crafton and Ella Murray also gave a commendable performance and were awarded a SILVER in the Chapter Service Project category.
