The Houston Mustangs fall sports are all having an incredible season! Boys varsity golf is feeling strong, with senior Zach Olsen having a personal best this past week of 31 (-5). Girls varsity golf will play on Wednesday, September 20 at the St. Agnes Invitational in a make-up round. Then preseason starts on Thursday, September 21, at Forest Hill! Varsity volleyball has continued their winning streak, defeating West Memphis 3-0 and on senior night, they defeated Bartlett, also 3-0! This weekend they were named champions of the IVBA tournament in Jackson, MS. Tomorrow they play Briarcrest away with freshmen starting at 4:00pm, JV at 5:00pm, and varsity at 6:00pm. This is one of the best matchups in the city, so be sure to come out and show your support!! Next up will be Collierville on Thursday, also an away game with the same start times as the games against the Saints. After the first MYA Meet, JV Cross Country is now preparing for the second MYA Meet on Wednesday, September 20, at Shelby Farms! Varsity Cross Country is preparing to travel to Atlanta for the Wingfoot Invitational on Friday, September 22. Girls varsity soccer had a huge win over Briarcrest! After being down 1-0 early in the game, two HHS freshmen Scarlett Cowles and Kate Wingfield, stepped up to help the team get the victory, 3-1! Read more about that win here. They went on to get another win this weekend, defeating Hendersonville 7-0. Their next game is this Thursday September 21 at home, with JV at 5:00pm and varsity at 7:00pm. Let’s go Mustangs!!
