Last week, Dogwood Elementary School (DES) embarked on an exciting journey known as "Dolphins Around the World." In their latest initiative, "Dolphins Belong," DES warmly welcomed students and their families to a memorable evening that celebrated the diverse backgrounds and unity within the school's student community.
The event unfolded in the school's cafeteria, where a delightful assortment of dishes representing various global cuisines was shared. Families prepared and exchanged their favorite culinary creations, crafting a delectable, multicultural feast that beautifully captured the diverse origins of the school's students.
The spotlight was taken by DES students, accompanied by members of the Houston High German Folk-dancing Club and International Club, as they delivered performances. From traditional dances to musical exhibitions, the audience was entertained, all while indulging in the flavorful dishes.
Nabiha Huda, one of the event's key organizers, captured the event's nature, "Every table here helps to showcase the family of a child here at Dogwood. We want everyone to come together to learn about each other's cultures and backgrounds," Huda said. "It was an amazing turnout, and we cannot wait to do it again next year."
