Why are Mr. Bond and Mrs. Strickland hanging out with Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak?

There's some exciting news on the horizon for our GMSD middle schoolers! We've taken a significant leap forward in STEM education by introducing the Woz Ed curriculum, thanks to Tennessee's Innovative School Model (ISM) Grant.

Spearheaded by none other than the tech legend Steve Wozniak, or "Woz" as he's called by peers, Woz Ed aims to propel learners into high-demand science and tech careers. By providing a cohesive pathway from Kindergarten to employment, Woz Ed holds a vision of not just fitting individuals for jobs but also igniting the spark of innovation.

Woz's journey is nothing short of inspiring. As the co-founder of Apple Computer alongside Steve Jobs, Wozniak's groundbreaking work in the '70s and '80s cemented his legacy as a key player in the personal computer revolution. And now, his vision continues with Woz Ed, helping students explore a tech-forward future.

As part of this innovative curriculum, our middle school admin teams were granted the unique opportunity to train directly with Steve Wozniak! And, following that up, the dedicated Woz Ed staff will be making their way to our campuses to impart knowledge to our teachers, ensuring a seamless transition into this new curriculum.

And, a special shoutout to Mr. Bond and Ms. Strickland! Our very own GMSD stars had an unforgettable time training with Wozniak last week.
