Houston High School educators blaze trails at national conference bridging the gap between high school and beyond

Three of our very own educators from Houston High School - Brenda Kinney (12th Grade Counselor/Dual Enrollment Coordinator), Monica Thomas (Dual Enrollment Teacher for Personal Finance/Entrepreneurship), and Chad Uhiren (Dual Enrollment Teacher for Criminal Justice) - were recently in the limelight at the 2023 National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) National Conference.

The three are leading the establishment of the TnADEP (Tennessee Alliance of Dual Enrollment Partnerships). This chapter, with representatives spanning secondary, post-secondary, and various industries from across Tennessee, is united under the mission of propelling Dual Enrollment opportunities for our state's students.

They've also been handpicked for NACEP's National Leadership Academy, a distinguished program that gathers emerging leaders from around the nation. Over the next year, they'll be immersed in crafting and executing a NACEP-backed capstone project, with the grand finale slated for the 2024 NACEP National Conference.
