Judson brings over 26 years of extensive experience in law enforcement, specializing in incident response, emergency operations, and strategic planning. Most recently, he has served as the SWAT Commander and Bomb Squad Commander for the Shelby County Sheriff's Office, where he led teams in high-stress, critical situations, ensuring the safety and security of the community. His expertise in crisis action planning and emergency management will be a true asset in keeping our schools safe.
Judson's impressive background includes certifications as an ATF Certified Explosives Specialist, FBI Bomb Technician, and Hazardous Material Technician. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts from Excelsior University and a Graduate Certificate in Explosive Technology from the Missouri University of Science and Technology. His professional skills are complemented by his ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders and his innovative problem-solving capabilities.
Assistant Superintendent Chauncey Bland expressed his enthusiasm for Judson's appointment, stating, "We had many outstanding candidates, but Judson's experience and expertise really stood out. His knowledge and leadership in security operations are going to make our schools even safer than they are today. We are excited for him to start and continue in the work of consistently updating all of the district's safety plans and protocols."
Judson is equally excited to join GMSD and is looking forward to working with our dedicated educators and Germantown Police Department law enforcement officers (SROs). "I'm thrilled to be part of such a rockstar team," Judson shared. "If I can change even one little thing that makes our schools safer, that will be a job well done," said Judson, in reference to continuing the good work done by his predecessor, Wes Crump.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Judson is a proud husband and father of a son and two daughters. When not in the office, he enjoys spending time outdoors, fishing, and hunting. Judson joins the district on July 10, 2024.
