Our Superheroes: High-Impact Training & School Safety at GMSD

At Germantown Municipal School District, we believe our teachers are nothing short of superheroes—and every superhero needs their training! As we leap into the new school year, our dedicated educators have been hard at work honing their skills and preparing to provide an exceptional learning experience for your children.

This year’s inservice was more than just meetings and lectures; it was a full-on superhero boot camp! Over the course of seven action-packed days, our teachers dove into 40 hours of high-impact training sessions tailored to meet the unique needs of our students. From fine-tuning math lessons to mastering the art of teaching English as a Second Language (ESL), our educators left no stone unturned in their quest to become the best of the best.

And it wasn’t just about the basics—our teachers engaged in some serious teamwork! They joined forces across grade levels to ensure that whether your child is moving from elementary to middle school or gearing up for high school, their educational experience will be smooth, seamless, and downright super.

School Safety: Our Top Priority

But we didn’t stop there. At GMSD, we know that a safe school environment is the foundation of a successful one. That’s why our entire staff participated in critical training sessions on school safety. From active shooter drills with the Germantown Police Department SWAT leaders to legal updates from our expert, Attorney Valerie Speakman, we’re continuing to keeping our schools safe and secure.

Building a Strong Community

We’re also focused on fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere in our schools. Programs like Capturing Kids’ Hearts worked with our Farmington Elementary School staff.  This year, the Falcons are back and plan to build stronger, more caring relationships with students, ensuring that every child feels valued and supported. After all, a superhero’s greatest strength is their heart!
