Meet Our GMSD Communications Interns

ANSH KHIRAYA
Has anyone ever impressed you with their outright helpfulness? Ansh is a dedicated student with a strong academic background and leadership experience. He is the founder & president of the South Asian Student Association and a member of the Houston High School Honors Academy, Key Club, DECA, and Debate Club. Ansh also volunteers regularly, having served as a GMSD Student Ambassador and a mentor for underclassmen during his junior year. He was a dependable and valuable member of our team last year.

BRIDGET FLAHERTY
Bridget is a creative talent beyond her years in film and video production. Her rendition of the 1980s ‘Top That’ won over the interview panel! She also participates in many extracurricular activities, including the Honors Academy, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the Houston Hearts Club. Her work experience includes roles as seasonal office staff and a cat sitter. Bridget’s volunteer service includes being a VBS counselor and a GMSD Ambassador during her junior year. She has received multiple awards, including medals in the National Spanish Exam, and she is CPR certified.

KELLY WHITE
Kelly is a social media-influencer-in-the-making. In addition to holding multiple leadership roles at Houston High School, including SGA, Beta Club, and HHS Theatre, she is also an impressive content creator. She comes to the internship with an excellent eye for design and storytelling through Reels and TikToks. We are excited that she is back in this role for the second year. Kelly is the Senior Vice President of SGA and has just begun the college application process. She is excited to be working on the marketing team for the new ACT tutoring initiative this year.

CHARLOTTE FREEMAN
We feel like Charlotte has a great natural eye for photography along with extensive experience in volunteer work and extracurricular activities. This includes serving as a volleyball scorekeeper and assistant coach, a St. Jude Marathon volunteer, and a member of the Community Service and Environmental Clubs. Her skills in journalism and yearbook work, along with her involvement in the National Honors Society and Beta Club, make her a good fit. And, yes, both of her parents work in GMSD!

TERRANCE WRIGHT JR.
Terrance was chosen as this year’s junior intern – the most competitive position we offer! He is both a proactive and community-focused student with proven experience in leadership and volunteerism. Over the summer, he served as a counselor at Camp Conquest, an overnight camp for individuals with special needs, and at the Memphis Jewish Community Center, where he was trained in leadership and supervision of young campers. At Houston High, Terrance is heavily involved in the Student Government Association, where he currently serves as Junior Vice President, helping to shape school events and communications. His skills include leadership, creativity, digital management, and public speaking, making him a valuable asset to any team.

ADDIE SMITH
Addie is a creative and highly accomplished student with a focus on graphic design and visual arts. She has contributed to the HHS Theatre Department, earning nominations for Outstanding Playbill and Poster. Addie is an officer in the National Art Honor Society and the Cartoonist Club, and she has participated in prestigious and competitive programs like the SCAD summer seminars and the CAM Experience. Her volunteer work includes assisting at the Brooks Museum and Madonna Learning Center, and she has won multiple awards in the Mid-South Scholastic Art and Writing competitions. In the words of her art teacher, “Addie is an unstoppable machine.”
