Farmington's Spooky Gym Casts a Spell on PE Class

Farmington Elementary is back in the spotlight, this time with an eerily epic twist on PE class—better known as the Spooky Gym. The school has been buzzing with excitement, and Principal Ashley Brasfield couldn’t help but notice the chatter. “Students were stepping out of cars in carline absolutely abuzz about the Spooky Gym! They're even dressing in Halloween-themed attire for PE days. In all my years here, I've never seen such enthusiasm for physical education," she remarked with a smile.

The masterminds behind this PE sensation are none other than Maggie Carkeet and Jessica King, two first-year Blue Chip PE teachers. As students cautiously entered the dimly lit gym, the teachers greeted them with a mischievous, "Welcome in, friends, to the Spooky Gym," high-fiving each child with a skeleton hand as eerie music filled the air.

The fun started with a spooky-themed warm-up, followed by the introduction of the seven spook-tacular stations. Students laughed their way through "Boo-ling" (bowling with ghostly pins), rolled through the "Haunted House" scooter maze, and took turns at the "Witch’s Ring Toss" using hula hoops and witch hats. A class favorite? A spirited game of “Keepie Uppie” with a balloon ghost, straight out of Bluey’s playbook.

"The delight, the engagement—we didn’t expect it to go over this well!" admitted Carkeet. King added, “This has been such a hit, we’re just getting started. We plan to build on this every year.” And the fun doesn't stop there—rumor has it the dynamic duo is already workshopping a winter-themed version. “That’s a secret for now,” King teased. “You’ll have to check back to learn more!”

Farmington’s Spooky Gym proves that PE can be more than just exercise—it can be magical, or in this case, hauntingly fun!
