On Tuesday, Germantown Municipal School District (GMSD) teachers participated in a dynamic District Learning Day, focusing on professional growth and enhanced school safety measures.
Educators engaged in a variety of sessions tailored to their roles, including strategies for individualizing student instruction, ACT training, and collaboration within their Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). The day also marked the kickoff of November with a district-wide event that celebrated gratitude, incorporating a festive “pumpkin twist.”
In tandem with professional development, GMSD partnered with the Germantown Police Department to conduct live gunfire simulation training at several district locations. This innovative training provided staff with firsthand experience in responding to emergency scenarios, reinforcing the district’s commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all students and employees.
“District Learning Day is a vital opportunity for our teachers to grow professionally and share ideas while also addressing critical areas like safety,” said Superintendent Jason Manuel. “We are proud to continue investing in our staff and ensuring our schools are prepared for any situation.”
GMSD remains dedicated to fostering academic excellence and prioritizing safety, going above and beyond to support its staff and community.
