Mustangs Storm Into Round Two, Winter Sports Heat Up

As fall sports wind down, the Houston High School Mustangs are still making headlines, particularly the varsity football team. Following a commanding victory over Dickson County in the playoffs’ first round, the Mustangs are ready for round two. This Friday, November 17, the community is invited to Landers Ford Stadium at 7:00 p.m. to cheer on the team as they host the Bartlett Panthers. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to support the Mustangs as they charge toward victory.

Winter sports are already off to an exciting start. Houston High’s varsity wrestling team hosted its annual King of the Mat preseason tournament last Saturday, setting the tone for their official season launch in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, varsity swimming has dived into competition with strong performances, including an upcoming meet at St. George’s on Thursday at 6:00 p.m.

Additionally, the girls varsity basketball team begins its preseason tomorrow night with a scrimmage at home, followed by an away event this weekend in Jackson, Tennessee. Fans of Mustang athletics have plenty of opportunities to show their support as Houston High continues to excel across all arenas.
